8 Wedding Day Tips for Bride and Groom

1. Getting Ready

Think about where you are getting ready. In terms of getting the most out of your wedding day photos, consider having one of your bridesmaids/groomsmen keeping an area of the room tidy at all times so there is a nice, clean space for some pics (the more light in the room the better).

2. Wear Comfy Shoes

Wear comfortable shoes or have a pair of flats on hand (unless you’re a seasoned heel wearer)! Depending on where you go for photos, sometimes there can be a little bit of walking involved so it’s always a good idea to have a pair of flats on hand.

3. Help create a vibe and ease the nerves with music

Have music to help with the vibe whilst you are getting ready (i’ll bring the music for the photos!) - it makes a big difference.

4. First Look

Have a first look (with father of the bride and/or bridesmaids)! It’s such a lovely moment and a great way to capture the emotions and reactions <3

5. Petal Toss

Not only does a petal toss make awesome photos but it gives you guys something to do once you’ve been announced as man and wife, you won’t be standing at the end of the aisle not knowing what to do next.

6. Be ready for family photos

Keep formal family photos to the minimum - make sure you have a list of the family photo configurations you want on the day. I recommend keeping this as small as possible (whilst making sure not to miss the important ones). Everyone is very social at weddings and it can be quiet stressful trying to round everyone up for formal photos. It also helps to have your Emcee or someone from the bridal party round up/call out for the people on the list (this speeds it up a lot). Remember you will also get candid photos of your guests throughout the day/night.

7. Golden Hour Photos

If you get the chance and it’s not going to interrupt your wedding reception too much, make sure to sneak out for some beautiful golden hour photos. Not only do these make the MOST STUNNING images, but it is really nice for the two of you to sneak away from the crowd and enjoy a few intimate moments together to soak it all in.

8. RELAX

RELAX! You’ve done all the hard work, you’ve planned your day as best as you can. Some things are beyond our control (weather being one), so whatever happens, remember what is most important and that your day will be perfect no matter what!
